What Title Would You Give

Your Autobiography?

Just for the sake of amusement and thought.

I will never write an autobiography, it would just be the diary of an ordinary man. Get up, go to work, drink coffee, come home, garden, cook, paint, eat, sleep, repeat. Fairly mundane.

It was this mundaneness that lead me to my title of choice.

I have a 50 mile drive on the M1 as part of my 64 mile commute to the office. I don’t do this every day, just 2-3 times a week.

As it’s a long, and occasionally tedious, journey that can vary from just over an hour to nearly two hours I have to find ways to amuse myself. As we all do.

The common games of making words or sounds from registration numbers – We have a P4RP near us, now named Parp. And the other day I saw a B00, which kept me amused every time one of us over took the other one, just added to the element of surprise each time i saw it.

Anyway, one morning, for no apparent reason, halfway through my journey to I had just passed Milton Keynes and my brain focussed on a tyre leaning against the reservation. With just over 30 miles left to Watford I started counting how many tyres were abandoned in the central reservation. Not at the side of the road, just in the centre of it.

I passed many other objects, mainly hub caps and cones, but ignored them all and kept my eyes peeled for those abandoned black rubber rings.

Then just before I got to Hemel Hempstead, another random item caught my eye and I logged it in my memory.

This journey for me epitomises the mundaneness of everyday life and my journey.

So I chose my title:
